Liability Waiver – Seattle Cake Meet 2025

By attending or participating in the Seattle Cake Meet 2025 (“the Event”), I acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following:

Photo & Media Release

By attending this event, I understand that photographs and/or video may be taken of me, my family, and any guests I bring.
I hereby grant ZestyBakers.com and other event hosts the right to use these images for promotional purposes including, but not limited to, social media, websites, flyers, and other materials.
I understand that no personal identifying information will be used without my additional consent.

Liability Release

Assumption of Risk:

I acknowledge that there are inherent risks associated with the consumption of food prepared by individuals not licensed or inspected by regulatory authorities. I accept full responsibility for any risk of illness, allergic reaction, injury, or other harm.

Potluck Nature of the Event:

I acknowledge that this is a free, potluck-style gathering. All food is brought by individual participants (either homemade or purchased). ZestyBakers.com and the co-sponsors are not food handlers or providers for the event.

Food Safety Preparation:

If I am contributing food to the event, I agree to take reasonable precautions in preparing it, including maintaining proper hygiene, avoiding cross-contamination, and ensuring appropriate storage and transportation.

Release of Liability:

I hereby release, waive, and discharge ZestyBakers.com and other event hosts, including their officers, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliates, from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or illness that may be sustained by me or my property while participating in the event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

Allergy Notice:

I understand that food items may contain or come into contact with common allergens such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soybeans, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, and shellfish. It is my responsibility to inquire about ingredients if I have any allergies or dietary restrictions. I will not hold ZestyBakers.com, the event organizers, hosts, or fellow attendees liable for any food-related reactions or health issues.

Weather-Related Cancellation Clause

In the event that the scheduled service/event is canceled due to weather-related conditions beyond our control, attendees shall be entitled to a refund of 50% of the total amount paid (if any). This partial refund accounts for non-recoverable expenses and administrative costs incurred in preparation for the event. No additional compensation or liability will be accepted for losses or inconvenience resulting from such cancellation.
