    There were some minor logistics issues that can be resolved with a little coordination but for the first ever Cake Meet in Seattle – this was a smashing success! Sooooo many incredible bakes and bakers. Strangers got together and overdosed on sugar, butter and flour and it was marvelous. I really hope this happens again. As for some feedback on logistics issues: Was this a Zesty Baker’s event or a Seattle Bakeshop event? I wasn’t sure and the comms were muddled. During the even, it would have been nice to do some sort of welcome at the beginning to explain who was who. That would have given the whole thing a bit more ceremony and then we could have thanked the people who put everything together. Because I know it was a lot of hard work. But again, these are minor logistics issues. Thank you for putting this together!

    Thank you for organizing this event!! Seriously a dream come true to be around so many bakers and delicious cakes.

    For feedback, my suggestions would be:

    1. Reduce the initial time for folks to figure out which cakes they want to eat. A lot of people had time to check out the cakes before. With the warmer weather, the poor cakes were melting so quickly!

    2. Sturdier cake boxes

    3. Have more volunteers with cat herding, cleanup, etc

    4. Is possible to sell swag or tshirts at the event? Would have loved to get a tshirt!

    Would love to help out on the next cake event. Thanks again for such a lovely event.

    Those who were not in the first two groups were really disappointed that they weren’t (we) weren’t able to get literally ANY of the cakes we had looked at. We were left with scraps. I have some major feedback and feel like this event was somewhat poorly planned out.

    I hope that at the next event you will consider the following :
    1. The photo round was great. Continue that!
    2. The first step should be a celebratory cake cutting! Everyone go to their cake and cut it into 8-12 pieces. (I think it should be 12) this could be a fun way to talk to the people around you, get a closer look and make it FAIR.
    3. After the cake cutting, everyone should be allowed a piece of their cake if wanted. Take the first slice. Make it easy for the rest. Try what you worked so hard to create
    4. Once cake cutting is done continue it by group. But limit the amount of cake. 3 minute rounds, get 2-3 pieces of cake. Rinse. Repeat. Until cake is gone. FORCE people out when their time is up.

    There’s NO REASON groups 1-3 should have massive slices of cakes to where the last groups are left with garbage cakes and crumbs.
